ECLAC Library was established in 1948 to provide specialized information services on the economic and social development of Latin America and the Caribbean, in accordance with the programme of work of the Commission. Although its services are principally to respond to the needs of ECLAC’s staff, the Library also provides information to specialized agencies located in Santiago, Chile, regional organizations, embassies, researchers and university students.
